YOSHI-HAN

YOSHI-HAN

Polish to overcome Refine to prevail

Through real business, we build the foundation upon which people may live in safety, in beauty, and to the fullness of their innate capacity.
And we hand it on to the next generation.

──── Yoshi-han Co., Ltd.

Chapter I

The Core

At Yoshi-han, when we lose our way,
there is a single phrase we return to.

Polish to overcome. Refine to prevail.

Polish what is within. Keep what we have decided.
Order it as a reproducible system.
Prevail over the long course.

These four, in this order,
form the core of Yoshi-han’s management.

Chapter II

Why We Exist

In the years after the war, one woman pivoted her enterprise from yarn to cosmetics and, in a single generation, built a company. The name of that company was Yoshi-han.

The age changed, and the company once came to an end. Yet the intent that had been entrusted to it did not vanish.

We are the company that has inherited that intent and risen again in a contemporary form.

What we believe is this: that to live in safety, to live in beauty, and to live in the full exercise of one’s innate capacity — these three are not separate domains, but stand upon a single foundation.

That foundation we go on building, day by day, in the field of real business. Not in property, not in investment, not in spreads, but as a system in which people are cultivated on the ground and value reaches the ones we serve.

And that foundation we shall not complete in our generation alone. We will, without fail, hand it on to the next — not by blood, but by intent.

This is why Yoshi-han exists.

Chapter III

Two Businesses

Through two businesses, Yoshi-han builds the foundation
upon which people exercise their innate capacity.

Both businesses share the same root.
“Polish to overcome. Refine to prevail.” — this stance,
we make our culture, in body.

Chapter IV

Our Promises

We are a company that makes clear what it will not do.

We hold to real business.

Beyond what our work requires, we do not engage in property, insurance, or investment ventures. We will not become a company that earns by spread.

We judge by reality, not by sentiment.

Kindness, we place after the judgment. Placed before, it will undo the organization. The eye that reads the numbers, the eye that perceives reality — these we hold above all.

We will not complete this in a single generation.

Yoshi-han is no one’s private enterprise. We build it, without fail, as a vessel to hand on to the next.

Chapter V

An Invitation to the Next Generation

To you, who have read this far.

Yoshi-han, now, is a company in the act of rising again. Once it ended; under an entrusted intent it was born anew; from here it will launch its two businesses in earnest, plant a flagship in Ginza, and walk the next twenty years.

This is not the story of a company already complete.
It is the story of a company taking shape, even now.

So here, many pages have yet to be written. Who will write them? Those who, from now on, take part in Yoshi-han.

As president, I have determined certain things.

Yoshi-han will not be inherited by blood. It is inherited by intent.

Yoshi-han will not earn by spread. It earns by real business.

Yoshi-han will not judge by sentiment. It judges by reality.

Yoshi-han will not end in a single generation. It is handed to the next.

These are not so much things I have decided
as things that already lived in Yoshi-han’s blood,
now set down again in present words.

If you —

  • as a member of staff, wish, through daily work,
to polish your very self —
  • as a customer, wish to reach not for the surface of fashion,
    but for genuine value —
  • as a partner, wish to build not a short-term trade,
but a trust that endures —
  • and if, though you may not yet know it,
you are called to this place as one who will, in time,
    share Yoshi-han’s intent —

The gate of Yoshi-han is open.

I do not ask your age, your history, or the title you bear. I ask one thing only: whether you bear the resolve to keep polishing your very self.

With those who bear that resolve, I would work.
To those who bear that resolve, I would give my time.
To those who bear that resolve, I would, in time,
hand on this vessel.

Yoshi-han exists for that purpose.
